Coan Interior Design is a boutique studio founded by Claire Murphy, working with homeowners across London, Surrey and the South West.
Claire established the studio with a clear belief: that the most beautiful interiors are the ones that genuinely work for the people who live in them. Her approach is calm and unhurried, built around understanding a client's home, habits, and taste before anything else.
Her work is characterised by natural materials, layered textures, and a sensitivity to light and space - rooms that feel considered rather than decorated, and that quietly improve with time.
Based in the Surrey Hills, the studio works on projects of all scales, from individual rooms to whole-home transformations.

For clients refreshing their interiors who want an expert eye before committing to colour.
We consider how light moves through each room, how your existing furnishings and architecture sit together, and the atmosphere you want to create - arriving at a palette that feels cohesive and entirely your own.
this service Includes a 1.5-hour in-home visit across up to four rooms, with a bespoke digital colour palette and recommended paints and finishes. Available across London and Surrey.

For clients whose furniture is in place, but the space isn't quite singing yet.
We work with what you have, layering in soft furnishings, lighting, artwork, and accessories to bring depth, texture, and personality to a room. The details that make a home feel finished and wholly yours.
You'll receive a Finishing Touches Pack - curated pieces with supplier details and purchasing links, plus a styling layout plan. An optional in-person styling session is available to bring it all together.
